On my website comment section, I frequently receive requests of information for sources of other writings about Freedom, Politics, Government and The Market Place. One of the most prolific writers along these and other lines is LEWROCKWELL.COM. If you are not already a subscriber, I highly recommend subscribing to his website’s daily writings.

He is a brilliant, insightful writer and heads the Von Mises Instutite, which frequently posts other articles by interesting informed writers on a variety of subjects. The June 3rd article by Lew Rockwell titled, PREFACE FOR AGAINST THE STATE, is a very detailed insightful article, describing events happening today, from an, “anti-state, anti-war, pro-market” point of view, beginning with a quote from Payne, who said, “These are times that try men’s souls.” Never more applicable than signs of the times today.

We are definitely living in an era when being uninformed and fence-sitting, is not an acceptable position for anyone interested in Freedom with love of country this nation was founded upon, to wallow around in. In order to comprehend what is happening on a daily basis in this country, it is imperative one understand the Principles upon which this nation was founded, and the legacy of those founding father principles handed down to us as a glad free gift. And being snatched from us, on a daily basis, at an expedited rate.

A few days ago I received an e-mail from one of my readers relative to articles I’ve been posting about the jailed Marine in Mexico, asking, “What can I do?” It is really not my intent in the daily articles I write to tell others what to do, but rather inform on the “philosophy of Freedom” and report current happenings relative to our government, acting contrary to the founding fathers’ Principles and in opposition to the Declaration of Independence and the laws of the U.S. Constitution..

It’s my contention The major basic problem in this country is a lack of understanding of what freedom means and an absence of desire to sustain and maintain. Further it’s my contention, this misunderstanding and lack of desire has been brought about as a result of tax-supported public schools, which is a socialistic system; and being a socialistic system, can only teach those basic tenets of socialism, and we are in the sixth generation of those teachings.

Therefore, where can the millions of school children graduating from socialistic teachings every nine months go to learn about freedom? From their Parents? They too are the products of the same system. Therefore to discover the meaning of freedom, one must go outside public schools. There is plenty available in books and from others who have discovered the meaning, but it requires one to indulge in a conscious effort if one desires the knowledge about Freedom.

Therefore for anyone to know what to do about the current conditions of in the ditch socialism, one must put forth the effort to understand, what we once had in our founding fathers principles, after the Revolutionary War. If you understand the cause of where we are today, and have a desire to regain a life in Freedom and the free market place, you will know what to do and must do to regain that. If one has a burning desire for Freedom and understands its meaning, it wont be necessary to ask anyone what to do.

For anyone to attempt to tell others what to do about our current delemma, without the recipient knowing the meaning of freedom, absent a desire for it, is futile waste of time. Therefore when anyone asks me, “What can I do?” I can only say there is much you can and must do, but first must be an understanding of freedom, with a burning desire to attain it. In this context, the question each individual must ask themselves is “what is it I want to do?” If it’s to attain Freedom, it is not free, there’s a price to it. If there’s no desire to understand and attain freedom, the only alternative is life under another system of socialism, one of two brands, fascism or communism. There is no in between, one lives under a government of socialism, or under the self-government of freedom.

Because I spent a number of years studying the philosophy of Freedom, I now have over one thousand articles on my website, many articles devoted to explaining the meaning of freedom, still posted for any-one to read. It’s not rocket science, so easily understood a child can understand it. Plus other sources by other writers on the internet.

As a footnote I might add, socialism is based upon a system of thievery, whereas freedom is based upon the private property concept of productivity. and ownership.
