My interest in Life covers a multitude of subjects, and always interested in learning something new and different. However there are some things I struggle to grasp – simple ordinary things, particularly anything electronic or mechanical. On the other hand, I have immense curiosity when it comes to ideas, those things in the abstract.
Sometime ago I had purchased a light-powered flashlight, but had not opened it until yesterday. It was a bright sunny day, so I opened it and left it on a table by the window where the sun was shining through. I have always been fascinated by the power of light that powers our life, body and soul, but had not given thought to the power of light to energize an inanimate object. Without batteries or any plug-in to electricity, simply the absorption of sunlight turns this little hand-held device on to reflect light. Will light up a dark room. The instructions state, “Can be charged by solar energy or room light.” Doesn’t have to be direct sunlight, but can be powered by the absorption of light in one’s living room lamp. I can report I’m totally impressed by that.
Years ago living in Florida I had solar-heated water system. I thought it was warmed by the heat from the sun, but now wonder if turned on to heat just by the light. Then I began thinking about the fact that all power is unseen. We see the light but do not see the power of it.
We meet some people whose inner light shines brightly in their face and from their eyes. Others seem to have darkness surrounding them, with very little light shining forth. The light particularly evident in most young children. Then I began thinking about the enlightenment of ideas.
Because I write web-site articles most every day and receive thousands of comments. Just this morning checked and saw I had 15,927 to be moderated. I began reading and some were giving advice and information on how to improve my writing skills. I do mis-spell and make grammatical errors. Some comments speak of SEO, that’s Search Engine Optimization.
A few says ago in a conversation with my son, I asked him to explain to me just what Search Engine Optimization is. He went into a lengthy dissertation to explain. I got the gist of it, but do not fully understand how it operates. His car tag says “Keywords” and he explained how keywords fit into the idea of SEO. Then suggested I go to Google to understand more about it.
That old saying that it’s difficult to teach an old dog new tricks, implies a certain amount of truism. I have a pretty good comprehension level about many things if it’s not mechanical or electronic. I’m thinking SEO is in essence a method of advertising.
When I was in business, I had business cards printed and created brochures to advertise, but now-a-days it’s a different methodology, using a computer to promote and advertise via keywords and SEO.
Keeping up with the signs of the times requires “enlightenment,” that is turning on the light in one’s thinking processes.
Which brings us right back to the power of light. One comment today stated this, “I’m really impressed together with your writing abilities as smartly as with the format of your blog. Is it a paid topic or did you customize yourself? Anyway stay up this nice quality writing – it’s uncommon to peer a great web-log like this one today.”
I think this one came from another country. No, I’m not paid to write a blog. I write for two reasons, it’s carthatic for me to express ideas, and secondly my love of freedom and this wonderful country, prompts me to write about the wonders of Freedom, and my concerns about my country’s transfomation from the Principles upon which it was founded, conversion to Socialism. It’s my hope and aim, through my writings some reader may be moved to give thought to that which we had and lost, and be motivated to take control and self-responsibility for their life, in anyway they see fit in their personal life, to use their energy to improve the conditions we face today.
And it’s my opinion that all of us can do something, by a renewed interest in understanding freedom, and a desire to re-claim it. Which begins with individual enlightenment about one’s personal freedom and the glories and desirability for it in opposition to the bondage of Fascist or Communistic Socialism.
Because it is one subject I thoroughly understand, ie, the Philosophy of freedom, which is the underlying theme of all I write about. And above all else, I try to be consistent with the notion of freedom, regardless of the subject I write about. Always hoping I might say something to motivate my readers to think about their freedom and feel led to take action to restore in their individual lives. Because freedom is not free, and requires that “eternal vigilance” Thomas Jefferson spoke about. I’ll be ninety years old my next birthday, and feel living my life according to the basic tenets of freedom, then writing about it is the most and the least I can do about it to sustain and re-gain.
I believe Freedom was granted to everyone by our creator and the legacy of it handed down to those of us in this country by our founding fathers who fought and died for it. And believe a few individuals who lust for power and control over others set out to destroy our wonderful gift of freedom, and replace by a system of political government, contrary to the meaning of freedom. And in this connection, it is obvious to anyone who desires to see it, knows tremendous inroads of intrusion in to one’s life of Freedom have already taken place. And unless we act individually to re-claim and change directions, our children and generations to follow will live in bondage of Socialism. None of us are entitled to allow this to happen.
Because we are already living in an era of political government mandated entitlement programs, Freedom is not a political government entitlement program, but a gift granted to us and guaranteed in the founding documents of this country, which have been ignored by those elected to be in charge, to carry out and enforce those laws. And because of this the Light of freedom has been dimmed, and does not shine so brightly amongst the 300 million plus citizenry in this country today. A country at one time, a shining light of Freedom, for the rest of the world, operating in a system of government which provided the greatest good for the greatest number known to civilization. That is the self-government required by Freedom, in a capitalistic, free-enterprising system, and guranteed by the laws of the political government.
Confucious said, “If the language is not correct, then what is said is not what is meant; if what is said, is not what is meant, then what must be done remains undone. Morals and art will deteriorate, if justice goes astray, the people will stand about in helpless confusion. Hence there must be no arbitrariness in what is said. This matters above everything.”
