On this Thanksgiving eve, along with turkey the word “stuffing” is synonymous with Thanksgiving holidays. I couldn’t help but observe the idea of stuffing is so pervasive in many other areas of our lives.

One of the biggest travel days of the year, families stuff their cars with kids and belongings before driving on to the highways stuffed with other cars and families. Airlines stuffed with long waiting lines of travelers and once boarded the planes are stuffed with passengers. So it is with trains and buses and hotel rooms. All clamoring to reach their destination to line up to stuff themselves with turkey and stuffing.

Then I turn on the news, to learn it’s stuffed with propaganda, hype, lies and more lies. Reports about the US being afraid of Iran, stories stuffed about Obamacare and the staggering cost of a continuing screw up of the government website. Bloated and stuffed stories about highly-paid government employees traveling the globe meeting, eating and retreating in so-called negotiations with other countries. Just stuffed hyped while conditions go from bad to worse.

News stuffed with ongoing stories about reduction in military, constant reports of killings and casualties of young American soldiers, with reports of closing of military facilities like commissaries and bases. The more vulnerable this country becomes, the more news about a reduction in the defenses to protect it. Glaring examples of time, personnel, equipment and money reductions in the area of national defense, which is the role of political government to protect this country from domestic and foreign enemies. While newspapers, television, radio and social media are stuffed with news about how our own government is busy dismantling the Principles upon which this nation was built, and replaced by a totalitarian system patterned after European and far Eastern governments.

While centralized political government employees like Congress, stuffing their pockets with money and perks, are propagandizing with a constant stream of verbiage about the plight of “the middle class,” they are destroying with an all-out effort to reduce to the poor, by the growing entitlement programs, instead of getting out of the way and allowing the free-enterprise, capitalistic system to operate, unhampered by political government laws, policies and edicts.

It’s imperative that we the people stop and ask ourselves, how we the people have allowed ourselves to be stuffed to the gills with political mis-information and propaganda. It’s a very real modern day story of fiddling while “Rome burns.” Instead of Rome it’s this once greatest nation on the earth which provided the greatest good for the greatest number in the history of civilization. We are now so stuffed with the bondage of Marxist Socialism, it’s taboo to use the word “Freedom.”

Any inkling of awareness is usually prefaced by blame of the President. No question about it, he is the leader of this “road to selfdom,” however it’s we the people who have set it all up and let it happen. We are stuffed to the gills with Socialism, and getting worse as each 24 hours pass. As we stuff our bodies with the stuffed turkey this holiday season, traveling around on the stuffed highways and air-ways, many will return home, sicker than a junkyard dog, after being stuffed with all that wonderful genetically modified food we have allowed the government to control via way of Monsanto.

We are overdue to regurgitate and rid ourselves of the enslavement of Socialism, and return to those Universal Principles of that which is Right and Moral, those fundamental principles this nation was built upon and thrived upon until the past few years, the past five or six generations. It’s not a case of “can we do it,” it’s a case of, are we willing to do it? By throwing off the yoke of Socialism around our necks?

Conversely, there’s much to be thankful for this holiday season, however the loss of the most important ingredient in our lives, FREEDOM, is not one of them.

It’s been reported repeatedly that President Obama has been advocating that the people discuss Obamacare when they gather around the Thanksgiving dinner. A president who recently glaringly left the word “God” out of Lincoln’s famous speech. I suggest it would be more productive to discuss the God-centered Principles this nation was founded upon, and what we can do to regain and return to them. Words are power, and the word “freedom” has glaringly been absent in our conversations about current happenings in this country. Plus our symbols of display about Freedom have been attacked and destroyed.

All this adverse weather across the country is news of warning for travelers to be more cautious. My sincere wish for everyone is a safe journey returning home after Thanksgiving. A time to take extraordinary caution while traveling.

From the musician Frank Zappa comes this quote: “The United States is a nation of laws, badly written and randomly enforced.”

LET FREEDOM RING
JUST ME AC
