I try to keep up with what’s happening daily by reading current news reports, articles, emails, Facebook, and comments on the articles I write.

Everyone knows, or should know, the US Constitution is the supreme law of the land. And specifies the three main branches of Constitutional government as being Congress, Executive, and Judicial. A 101 reminder lesson – According to the Constitution, Congress makes the laws, the Executive branch enforces the laws and the Judicial branch, the nine judges on Supreme court, interprets the laws. At least that’s the way it’s supposed to work.

This morning I read an article titled “Obama administration can pick which Immigration laws to enforce.” Who out there knew it was the prerogative of the Executive branch to pick and choose which laws they decide to enforce? Admittedly I did not know that. That’s startling big news everyone ought to be concerned over. I’ve read the Constitution, and find nothing in it that says the Executive branch can pick and choose which laws should be enforced and which should be ignored.

This being the case means the President and his team are the sole deciders as to which laws should be enforced, and which to ignore. And suggests Congress and the courts are rather non compos mentis, with a la carte power to act as they darn well choose, ignoring Congress, the courts, the Constitution and the people. And very big news.

During a hearing before a Congressional committee, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano declared that she, President Barack Obama, and other political officials at the top of the administration, have the authority to enforce and which ones to ignore. She made the statement during an exchange of questions between her and Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama, on Immigration Enforcement. Including blockage of enforcement of the laws.

This informs us the US Constitution of Laws is ignored, and Congressional members elected by the people to represent according to Constitutional law, are just figureheads, who pass laws not enforced by an executive branch that makes the decisions to enforce or ignore. And informs us a paid employer of the executive branch had the unmitigated gall to announce it. She let the cat out of the bag. As an insider and Secretary of the Executive branch, she’s privy to inside information.

Now making a public announcement that the Executive branch of this government of the people, by the people and for the people, have the prerogative of ignoring laws they choose to ignore. Dear hearts and gentle people, this is big news!! And smacks of dictatorial behavior!! Plus doesn’t speak well of elected Congressmen, who know this is going on.

Abraham Lincoln said in a speech February 22, 1865: “The people are the rightful masters of both Congresses and the Courts, not to over throw the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.” That’s a clear cut, easy to understand announcement by a former President of the United States.

As things have evolved and stand today, it appears obvious we the people have failed the “eternal vigilance” required to be free, and sat idly by while one branch of the three main branches of this Constitutional government runs the business of this country, ignoring Congress, the courts and the people.

No point in trying to medicate our feelings by moaning and groaning that we don’t know what’s going on. The Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, has told us what’s going on, by speaking out on immigration laws. It’s no wonder we have eleven million immigrants wandering around in this country. Now this executive branch of the government is pushing to legalize and declare citizenship. Which would mean they could vote, serve on juries, run for office, plus more here in this country, after they have so screwed up things in their native country, they are flocking here. Why have the millions not stood up to overthrow their own political government they have found so undesirable to live under that they flee here?

I’m quite frankly highly incensed, after spending 24 years of my life supporting a military officer who fought through three wars for freedom of this country, to wind up in the conditions we face today, specifically an executive branch of government who ignores laws, according to a member of his team, and has let the gates down to allow any Tom, Dick and Harry from third world countries to flock here by the millions, and now wants them to enjoy the perks of citizenship.

Which points up the fact that the bottom-up native Citizenry, have voted into power a top-down regime, who promotes the idea that millions of foreigners now residing in this country are entitled to all the Civil and political Rights of those who have worked and fought to sustain the Principles upon which this great country was founded. A regime that has the power to ignore laws, pointed out by the secretary of Homeland Security and the support of the Attorney General, all members of the Executive Branch of government.

It’s now an inverted pyramid. A system of government we once had represented by the power of the people in the broad base of the people, and political government represented by the tiny tip. Now it’s inverted, and the power of a centralized government represents the broad base inverted and the power of the people represented at the upside down teetering inverted pyramid.

No longer can we shrink and hide by the notion, we don’t know what’s taking place, those at the top and in charge are now telling us. Freedom is a gift from our Divine Creator, but those before us fought and died to leave us the legacy of freedom, with a “Root, hog, or die” determination. None of us are entitled to squander and sit back and do nothing to reclaim and sustain.

Commensurate with that legacy of freedom we inherited comes a responsibility to stand up, speak up, and take action in the area of one’s personal life to do something in favor of freedom. Start by reading the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution. Anyone can do that. Just Google it and read it, if you can’t afford to purchase a copy.

“The saddest words of tongue of men are these few words, it might have been.”
