Ron Paul, recently retired congressman from Texas, is now advertising his upcoming book in September, titled “New School Manifesto.”

I’m not a political activist, nor a fan of any politician, including Ron Paul. I listened to what he had to say in the 2012 Presidential debates, when he was a candidate for President of the United States. I do agree with some of the things he says and disagree with others.

He recently retired after 24 years in Congress, and what did he do to stop or slow down the slide downward towards Socialism in opposition to the Principles upon which this nation was founded. His banner of acomplishments has been years of attempting to have the Federal Reserve audited, which he never accomplished. Anyway, what would that do to stop the onslaught on Freedom, and conversion to Socialism?

There are so many areas of topics he could have selected, to effect change in this country, but picked one improbable, if not impossible to attack. Anyway the Federal Reserve is not what’s wrong with this country. Not the cause, but one of the effects.

I viewed him as a politician who could talk the talk, but not walk the walk. My question is, why did he not address the tax-supported public school system when he was in a position of power, to effect a change, during his 24-year tenure in Congress?

If all the time, effort, money and news space had been spent exposing the reality that public schools are socialistic, and do not educate but indoctrinate, he might have made a difference in the direction this country has taken, instead of all the energy spent on “auditing.”

Now out of the loop of power in Washington, he is publishing a book, titled “New School Manifesto,” due out in September. The news preview states, “New School Manifesto will delve deeply into one of the most important issues facing this Country.”

In my opinion, the 50 Billion plus annual cost for schooling is not ONE of the most important issues facing this country, it is the most important issue, and the major root cause we’re in the conditions we face.

In the preview write-up, it states, “This book will be a focused guide to Dr. Paul’s position, which centers on a strong support for home-schooling and Free-market Principles.”

I definitely agree, schooling and education belongs in the Free-enterprise, capitliastic system. However home-schooling is only an alternative to the current compulsory attendance to the horrors of the current system. Because most parents have jobs, only a limited few can afford home-schooling.

I home-schooled back in the sixties when it was not tolerated, and faced arrest more than once. I’m not a “strong supporter of home-schooling,” but accept it as an alternative, when one cannot afford private schooling attendance.

I’m all for education, but opposed to compulsion, the system of thievery public schooling thrives on, plus opposition to the tenets of the Philosophy of Socialism.

Additionally, in the book’s description it states that Dr Paul “nimbly dissects the most pressing issues that need to be addressed from the Libertarian point of view.” I for one look forward with great anticipation to this.

Further stating: “nobody yet has really captured education from a Libertarian point of view.” Not a true statement, because I have been promoting education from the stand-point of Freedom, since 1962. And more than once made front page news, in more than one state, as a result of my battles to improve education, and have the news clippings to prove it. Plus the scars from threats to be arrested, because I defied compulsory attendance laws and home-schooled. I orderd the truant officer off my property more than once.

The pre-write up relative to the book’s publication ends by saying,”Ron Paul’s ideas and his urgent appeal to all citizens and officials will tell us what we need to do to America’s education system for future generations.” I can hardly wait to hear what his proposal for fixing the problem is.

A quote from AJ Liebling: “People everywhere confuse what they read in newspapers with news.”
