Tonight is the second debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. This election cycle seems to have gone on and on infinitum, but the end is in sight. The November 6th election is just around the corner. In my opinion the debate tonight is the single most important event of the long drawn-out process.
This last stretch is getting down to where the rubber hits the road, as the winner emerges from the ashes of the dirty game of politics.
I recall an event several years back when a candidate running for mayor knocked on my door and asked me to vote for him. I asked him what he planned on doing if elected, and his response was; “You know government is a process.” My response was,”No, I did not know that, I thought it was a gun in my back.”
It’s a well-known fact that conditions in this country currently are in a very undesirable state. We are no longer free, up to our gills in debt, and sick and tired of being sick and tired. And it’s been my position that the solution will not come out of Washington, but from the hearts and minds of the people. As I look backwards, then where we are today, conditions look a bit different than they did just a few months back.
In the two-party system, there are fundamentally two different belief systems, i.e., the Democrats are pro-political government being in charge of everything, and Republicans believe in personal Freedom, private property ownership, with each individual in charge of their world and affairs. In other words, one group believes in political government and the other believes in self-government. The battle going on is between these two factions.
In the lengthy process of vetting and elimination, over the past many months, a Republican candidate has been chosen, Mitt Romney, as the one to go up against the incumbent president, Barack Obama.
From all I have read, heard and seen, Mitt Romney appears to be a very decent man, with integrity and high moral standards. He seems to be spirituallly grounded in his faith, a good husband and family man, a very smart business man, who understands the free-enterprise system, and recognizes what’s wrong in this country, and has a workable plan of solutions to put this country back on track according to the Principles upon which it was founded, and outlined in the documents of our founding fathers.
Conversely, President Obama is for implementation of every degree of Socialist programs he can ram through Congress and down the throats of the American people. And his actions the past four years as leader of this nation, have contributed greatly to the dismantling of a way of life in these United States, and has taken this country in the opposite direction and away from, the Principles upon which it was founded, which was individual Freedom, Private property ownership, in a free-enterprise system of capitalism.
Despite the turn-around of direction must come from the hearts, minds and souls of the American people, it is glaringly apparent a leader is needed, to guide this country of 300 million-plus out of the maelstrom of Socialist programs, and get this country back into productivity. And it now appears Mitt Romney is the man qualified to accomplish that task. He has the ability, temperment, and know-how to accomplish the goal.
A man who has obviously been tempered by the fires of political lies, condemnation, criticism, mis-information, as if he has been dragged through a keyhole backwards. He has risen from the ashes and I suspect this second debate will catapult him into the lead.
How did this happen? How did this young charismatic president, with so much money, power, prestige, and the media backing him, start looking like a loser?
He did it to himself, when the decision was made to indulge in tactics and strategies of destruction of the charactor of his opponent, as a ways and means to win the election. President Obama bombarded Mitt Romney with a vicious assault of lies and accusation, like no one has seen in quite awhile. And Mitt Romney remained quite calm, cool and collected, under the assault directed at him by the opposition. And is now rising up from the ashes, as the winner and leader.
I have written a number of articles stating Obama will be difficult to defeat, and up until the debates it appeared he’s winning. But the winds of change have kicked in, and Romney is gaining momentum, and I suspect after the second debate tonight, there will be a noticable shift in election news.
And interestingly, the shift has come about, not because of the opposition of Obama, but because of his chosen strategy, several months ago, when the decision was made to re-frame Mitt Romney, in the image of a very bad person, and all stops were pulled out to set that in motion.
Not only has there been an exposé of the lies perpetrated, and spread all over the news about the charactor of Mitt Romney, adding to the mix is the exposé of all the lies, more lies and damned lies that the current Obama team is involved in, relative to foreign as well as domestic affairs.
The worm has turned, and finally we are beginning to see some evidence that the American people are fed up to the gills, with the take-over and dis-mantling by the current bureaucracy in Washington. Not enough to cause any significant difference today but perhaps tomorrow.
Tonight’s debate is the most important event of the very long campaign era. It’s going to determine who the front runner is, just three weeks before the election. However, you can expect all the liberal, leftist democratic pundits to loudly proclaim Obama the winner. A group of media who have had their way so long, they simply cannot accept the possibility Obama could lose.
