NINTH ARTICLE ON WIKILEAKS. AN IN-DEPTH LOOK INTO WHY JULIAN ASSANGE FEARS BEING EXTRADITED TO UNITED STATES
I’m beginning to wonder who’ s more afraid? Is it the fear of the U.S. government of Wikileaks, or Julian Assange more afraid of U.S. government?
This week Julian Assange, the owner of Wikileaks and publisher on the internet of the thousands of so-called secret documents, from files of the government in Washington, was released from jail in London, where he had been arrested on charges of sex misconduct in Sweden.
Here’s an Australian citizen, arrested in England, on charges from Sweden, and wanted in the United States on espionage charges. Reported he has 250,000 secret documents of government files from the seat of the government in the United States. Could anyone make up an international spy novel, with more intrigue than this true story, which has the attention of the entire world? And not some bearded old man with a spy glass, but a handsome, 39 year old man at the center of all of it.
After making a brief statement, emerging from 9 days in jail, he stated his biggest concern was not being extradited to Sweden, but being deported to the United States. Obviously a man with a great deal of courage, exposing the inner secrets of the government here in the United States. A man who stated in an interview: “Our goal is justice. Our goal is to have a just civilization. That is sort of a personal motivating goal. And the message is transparency.” What could be more noble and moral than that?
After being released on a three-hundred thousand dollar-plus bond, making a brief statement, graciously thanking all those helping him, he was whisked off to a 6oo acre estate, north of London, saying he would continue his work.
While fighting extradition to Sweden on unrelated charges, his biggest fear is once there being sent to the United States. Several countries around the world expressing anger towards him, because their international games are exposed in the documents, and expressing methods of getting rid of him. Here in the United States so much venom coming from so many speaking out, calling for his scalp. Ordinary citizens, high profile politicians, news media, and officials in positions of justice in government jobs calling for ways to deal and dispose of him.
And yet he has not been officially charged with anything aside from this apparent trumped-up sex charge in Sweden. All these game-playing charges, are not innocent games of spin the bottle, pin the tail on the donkey, fruit basket turn-over or musical chairs, but such serious charges like hunting him down like Bin Laden and assassinating.
No wonder Assange fears being extradited to the United States. All that is being said and depicted about this country, is a people so angry, bloodthirsty, unthinking, unfair and a bunch of vigilantes, with the government itself being frontrunner of the pack. How did we reach this state and why?
Instead of holding the U.S. government accountable for their inability to protect this nation from the theft of secret documents, with claims of violation of national security, so many calling for the scalp of the messenger, who is not the thief that lifted the documents from the government files in Washington.
Once upon a time here in America, we came close to a way of life, in Freedom, and private property ownership, a way to live together, not as enemies, but as brothers and sisters, to live in peace, not an armed truce, spying on each other and other countries. Each in their own way free to pursue their own spiritual and material happiness, unmolested by Big Political Government. Not only did we want this for ourselves, but for all people around the globe in other countries.
This was such a great country, others wanted to come here. Now as expressed by Mr. Assange in his brief statement, what he fears most is being sent to the United States. What has happened to us, which causes others to fear coming here?
We are the only species that wage war against our brothers. Today, it is obvious a type of war has been declared by individuals and government against one lone individual from another country, who has been convicted of nothing. Whose stated goal is justice, and transparency.
The laws created to govern this universe, are applicable to all, undeviating and immutable. Those laws which govern plants, animals and humans do not change. Other animals may fight or quarrel over food or mate, they are not out for wholesale slaughter of their own kind. But we as human beings with a brain to think and reason are the only ones who wage war against our brothers. And frequently do so over trumped-up charges.
Here we are in this great country with thousands of churches and this Sunday, millions attending services, full of piety and righteous indignation, delude themselves with this idea, of thrusting home the sword to its bloody brutal hilt, to hunt down and destroy another, who has never harmed them in any way, shape, form or fashion.
By an act of our creator we were made to be responsible for our own individual actions. Where along the line did we choose to abdicate that self-responsibility of personal Freedom, and run to a centralized government and say, “Rule us, judge us, punish us, enslave us and do anything you wish, so that we can escape this awesome responsibility, imposed upon us by our Creator, this terrible responsibility of having to think before we act, this unfair imposition of having to pay the price of our own folly.”
Therefore, when a lone stranger from a strange land, decides to expose some of the secrets behind closed doors, revealing how the government judges and rules us, many people in this country, with a face and facade of common decency, openly calling for his destruction, displaying their mis-placed anger.
For me, I keep writing about the Wikileaks story, because I see it as an important one, specifically because it’s a story that’s an eye-opener for all of us, about our government and ourselves. A glaring revelation about the way this government now operates, number one, and how we respond to Truth about the modus operandi. A story none of us should ignore, because all are affected by it, whether we recognize or not. Our very future depends upon our recognition of the reality of what is happening today.
Don’t take my word and writings for what is happening, but seek to find for yourself, because the facts are all out there for any and everyone to see and understand. That is to understand what is happening on the centralized government level, as well as knowing what one’s individual responsibility is in this time of crises, and Transformation of America. In my opinion there’s an urgency to grasp what is happening, while there’s still a window of opportunity, for the individual to matter. An opportunity which may not be there one morning when we wake up.
Here’s a quote from Theophilus Parsons, the source in the Massachusetts Convention on the ratification of the Constitution, January 23, 1788: “But Sir, the people themselves have it in their power to resist usurpation, without being driven to an appeal of arms. An act of usurpation is not obligatory; it is not law, and any man may be justified in his resistance. Let him be considered as a criminal by the general government, yet only his fellow-citizens can convict him, they are his jury, and if they pronounce him innocent, not all the powers of Congress can hurt him, and innocent they certainly will pronounce him, if the supposed law he resisted was an act of usurpation.”
