DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE
On this 4th of July weekend, it’s time to re-read the Declaration of Independence, and reflect upon its words of wisdom, authored by Thomas Jefferson, stating, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, endowed by their Creator with certain un-alienable Rights, among these are life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. That to secure these Rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”
Those are extremely powerful and meaningful words. Clearly recognizing and declaring we have very definite and specific Rights granted by a Higher Power, our Creator. This may be met by denial, by atheist, agnostics, marxists, and muslims, or anyone who is dumb or stubborn enough to resist the idea of a Supreme Power, greater than ourselves.
The second important point states, “that to secure these Rights, governments are instituted among men deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. ”
If these Truths are self-evident, and granted by our Creator, if the present regime of governing persons have not received “consent of the governed” to implement and execute all the current power to errode and infringe upon the life, liberty and pursuit of happiness of the people, where is it coming from?
I, for one individual citizen, did not give my consent for the infringements upon my life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, perpetrated by the current political government. Just one example, the government cancelled my drivers license three years ago, denying me the right to travel, all because they made a 4-year error of my birthdate in their records. With absolutely no violations on my driving record, and no criminal record, my un-alienable Right to Life, Liberty and happiness, has been denied by this restriction, backed by a gun, threat of a gun or incarceration if I drive a vehicle.
Having been born in this country at home, with no registered birth certificate issued, I’m ordered by the government to “create one,” “before a drivers license will be reinstated.” I refused to create a birth certificate. But did furnish proof of a military ID, issued as a result of my parents furnishing a sworn affidavit attesting to my birth, which failed approval for re-instatement of my drivers license.
According to many reports the President of the United States, has never presented a valid birth certificate.
If the powers of political government are derived from the “consent of the governed” and there are 300 million-plus citizens in this country, and the current President received 60 million votes, i.e., consent from the governed, where does the power to govern of the 240 million who did not give their consent come from? Obviously, the argument of majority rule is not applicable, because the majority did not vote and give consent.
Simple arithmetic shows a disconnect between the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, relative to the degree of power exerted over We the People, executed and implemented, by the thousands of laws passed by Congress and put in motion by the executive branch of government.
An example of the over-burdening by over-powering laws will rear its ugly head in just six months, when January 1st, 2011, the Bush tax cuts will expire. Which means personal income tax will rise, capital gains taxes will rise at least 15 to 20 percent, higher taxes on Obamacare, marriage, family and death taxes will increase, small business tax increase, to mention a few of the many increases in the power to take from the producers of this country.
We ain’t seen nothing yet!! In six short months, conditions and the current crisis will dramatically change, going from bad to worse. This article I’m writing this fourth of July weekend, is a reminder, and an urge for those who read my articles to take heed, by re-reading the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution, comparing what it says in these two documents, to the actuality of what has happened, is happening and will happen in the future.
By taking the time to do this, you can decide for yourself what you like, what you expect, what you want, and whether or not there is anything you choose to do about it. Not necessary to take my word for anything I have expressed here, because there is plenty of information and news available, for anyone to be informed about the Truth. There is plenty of information available for anyone to objectively make decisions for themselves.
A reminder, 535 members of Congress, nine Supreme Court Justices, and one head Executive branch, a total of 545 persons, make the laws, intrepret the laws and execute the laws, for 300 million-plus citizens in this country. And the Declaration of Independence states, “just powers are derived from the consent of the governed.” Therefore, it’s up to you to decide what it is you have consented to.
